NowWave runs entirely on your Mac. Now-playing data (title, artist, album, cover, position) comes from macOS and never leaves your computer. NowWave has no accounts and no servers that store data.

Logins to TIDAL, Spotify and Slack happen in your browser on each service's own sign-in page, using their official APIs. The access tokens are stored only on your Mac, in your user library, and are deleted when you sign out from Settings → Integrations.

Slack

When you connect Slack, NowWave asks for one permission, users.profile:write, to set and clear your own status text and emoji. It does not read messages, channels, files or other users' data. The status is set from your Mac directly to Slack's API. This website only acts as a sign-in relay: it exchanges the authorization code for your token and forwards it to the app on your machine over your loopback interface; nothing is logged or stored.

TIDAL and Spotify

With your permission NowWave reads and updates your favorites (TIDAL collection, Spotify Liked Songs) and, on Spotify, reads what your player is playing to identify the exact track. Nothing is cached anywhere but on your Mac.

Discord

Rich Presence is sent from your Mac to the Discord app on the same computer over a local socket. No token is involved.

This website

nowwave.app sets one cookie, nw_locale, to remember the language you picked. It uses no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers.
